Terms of Service
Last updated: June 1, 2026
Agreement
These Terms of Service govern your use of Absorb. By using the app, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the app.
These terms apply in addition to Apple's standard terms for apps distributed through the App Store and Google's standard terms for apps distributed through Google Play, unless Absorb provides separate custom terms through the relevant store.
Use of the app
Absorb provides reading tools, including focused reading modes, reading preferences, progress tracking, vocabulary saving, public domain book access, local document import, website or article import, and camera scan import.
You are responsible for the files, websites, articles, and scanned pages you import and for making sure you have the right to store and read them in the app. Do not use Absorb to violate copyright, trademark, privacy, publicity, access-control, or other rights.
Analytics and product improvement
Absorb may collect product analytics through PostHog and install/deep-link attribution through ChottuLink as described in the Privacy Policy. Analytics and attribution help us understand onboarding, feature usage, reading-session behavior, purchase-flow performance, app health, and which marketing links lead to app downloads so we can improve the app.
Do not include sensitive personal information in book titles, file names, or other user-controlled metadata if you do not want that metadata to appear in app records or analytics events described in the Privacy Policy.
Links and attribution
Absorb may use dynamic links, app links, universal links, or similar link technology to open parts of the app, measure campaign performance, or attribute app installs to marketing links.
Third-party platforms, websites, and social media services that show or distribute Absorb links are not controlled by Absorb. Their own terms and privacy policies apply to your use of those services.
Public domain and third-party content
Some books may come from Project Gutenberg or other public domain sources. Those works may be subject to their own license notices, trademark terms, or regional copyright rules.
Imported websites, articles, documents, and scans may be governed by the source publisher's terms, copyright notices, or access rules. Absorb does not guarantee that any particular public domain work, web page, or scanned page is free to use in every country. You are responsible for complying with the laws that apply to you.
Purchases, lifetime access, and subscriptions
Absorb may offer paid features, subscriptions, lifetime access, or other in-app purchases. Purchases are processed by Apple or Google through your store account and may be validated through RevenueCat.
Before you purchase, the app or store purchase sheet will show the product, duration, price, and included access. Paid access unlocks the features described at the time of purchase, subject to these terms and store rules.
Auto-renewable subscriptions renew automatically unless canceled at least 24 hours before the end of the current billing period. Your store account is charged according to the applicable App Store or Google Play subscription terms. You can manage or cancel subscriptions in your store subscription settings.
Canceling a subscription stops future renewals but does not automatically refund the current billing period. Refund requests are handled by Apple or Google. Lifetime access, if offered, means access to the paid features for the lifetime of the app as made available by the developer, subject to technical, legal, and platform limitations.
If paid features change over time, we will not intentionally remove access to features you have already paid for without a reasonable replacement or as required by law, platform rules, security, or technical necessity.
Restore purchases
Absorb provides a restore purchase option for restorable App Store and Google Play purchases. To restore access, use the same store account that made the purchase.
No professional advice
Absorb is a reading and productivity tool. It does not provide medical, educational, legal, or professional advice. Reading speed and comprehension results can vary by person and material.
Acceptable use
Do not misuse the app, interfere with its operation, reverse engineer paid access controls, attempt to bypass App Store purchase systems, use website import to bypass paywalls or access restrictions, use the app to violate intellectual property rights, or use the app in a way that violates applicable law.
Availability and changes
We may update, change, suspend, or discontinue parts of the app. We try to keep the app reliable, but it is provided without a guarantee that it will always be available or error free.
Termination
We may suspend or terminate access to app features if you violate these terms, misuse the app, or if required by law, platform rules, or security needs. You may stop using the app at any time.
Disclaimer and limitation of liability
To the fullest extent allowed by law, Absorb is provided as is and as available, without warranties of any kind. We are not liable for lost data, lost reading progress, subscription platform issues, or indirect damages except where liability cannot be limited by law.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms when the app, business model, or legal requirements change. Continued use of Absorb after an update means you accept the updated terms.
